| Lead –based
Paint Inspections
The
purpose of a Lead Based Paint Inspection is to investigate available records
for the application of lead-based paint, inspect the structure for suspected
lead based paint, sample and analyze suspected lead-based paint on the
structure. Paint layer samples are collected from homogeneous type building
materials covered with similar paints or coatings. The paint samples can
be collected from the trim, door jams, window sills, walls, etc to characterize
paint or coating system. The Federal Definition of Lead-Based Paint as
defined by EPA is 0.5 percent lead (0.5%), which is the same as 5,000
µg/g, 5,000 mg/kg, or 5,000 ppm (parts per million).
The client is provided with the scientific findings
of the test as well as recommendations regarding renovation or demolition
in agreeance with Federal, State and Local guidelines.
